Great Eastern Offshore Wind Project team’s regional ports tour

The Australian project team visited the Barry Beach Marine Terminal (BBMT), located near Port Anthony in central Gippsland on 9 February 2024.

Ravi Kaskana (Transmission Director), Alex Kuo (Stakeholder Director), Andrew Costen (Offshore Approvals Manager), and Kate Foster (Regional Stakeholder Manager) took part in a site tour and learned about their plans to invest in upgrades and prepare the terminal for potential operations and maintenance activities to support the emerging offshore wind sector.

BBMT is a valuable asset to the Gippsland region and will play a significant role given its close proximity to the declared offshore wind zone and our Great Eastern Offshore Wind project.

The tour was organised by Committee for Gippsland CEO, Tony Cantwell, who commented that “It’s great to have the Corio team join us today. Port development in Gippsland provides an enormous opportunity for our local region and it’s impressive to see firsthand the scale of the BBMT and Qube’s proposal for developing the site as an O&M facility.”
