Penny Pickett, Head of Australia, speaking on the Opening Plenary Session Panel

Our Head of Australia, Penny Pickett, led a Corio team taking part in the Australian Wind Industry Summit in Melbourne this week.

Organised by the Clean Energy Council, the summit is the leading industry event of the country’s wind energy sector, where industry thought leaders meet, network, and share best practices on accelerating the clean energy transition.

Penny featured on the Opening Plenary Market Outlooks Session, sharing insights on the challenges and opportunities for offshore wind in Australia. “Based on what we have seen from successful offshore wind deployment around the world, I am pleased to see that all the key drivers are being progressed effectively in Victoria and Gippsland,” she said.

During the panel, Penny highlighted the importance of maintaining the strong momentum gained in the industry over the past 12 months with the award of the first feasibility licences, release of new regulations and guidelines, legislated targets in Victoria and the establishment of industry platforms and working groups for collaboration, and how continued collaboration across industry and government will ensure the sector is set up for success.

As sponsors of the conference’s coffee carts, Corio made sure everyone had the caffeine they needed to power through the day and keep energised for the important discussions of the summit.
